In the last couple of years, stretch in the fashion world has evolved from high strength to a much more muted effect, where the stretch element is there partly for comfort and style but also to impart stability to the fabric structure. It is a very popular yarn in our sales for knitwear ending up in High St stores, so we have introduced it for home machine knitting. It looks and handles like viscose stretch, but is somewhat less expensive, machine washable and hardwearing. Available in white, taupe, lime, cream, red, rusty brown, orange, turq, navy, silver and black.

DK Panama

You will see the DK Panama collection under the Women’s Weekly category. We have now produced this very popular 4-ply yarn in a DK quality, on 100g balls. Not expensive. The theme of natural pastel ... called " nude colours" by the designer industry ... is featured in the 6 colours in the offer, and we are sure it will be a great favourite for simple, easy knitting.

Each few weeks we have our designs for hand knitting featured, and they then become available on the site as soon as published ... at the moment we have about 8 recent styles available, and these will shortly all be featured when we finish the site update, in the meanwhile free pattern copies are only a phone call away (0116 2404464), if you want to see them.

Crochet

We have started to offer some patterns for this craft form, but please note that many of our yarns ... like Cannele mercerised cotton, like Panama etc are already being used widely by crochet hobbyists. A recent 3- cushion feature ... again in Women’s Weekly, has been very popular, and in April there will be a cardigan available ... free patterns for that are available now.

As I write, the carpenters and painters are just finishing off, we welcome visitors ,and as a result of this investment, we hope to be able to improve our services and look after you better; we always have lots of non- repeatable yarns available, and our hand knit selection will now become much better represented than before.
